PWL Shop Rules
In the case of an emergency, after you call 911, call one of the following:
Michael, Mimi, or Kat
*Please see membership directory for numbers
It is extremely important that all members follow the shop rules carefully. We do not have any of the air quality protections, plumbing traps or environmental protections that better funded facilities have. Be aware that an unexpected repair bill or fine will blow our budget and force us to close. You don’t want to be the cause of that.
- Never leave anyone alone in the building without telling them.
- Many things in the shop are shared. If you use a lot or all of something please replace it.
- No solvents are to be used in the building except for Gamsol or equivalent products and these are only to be used when absolutely necessary. When in doubt, use it outside.
- Oil based ink must be cleaned up with vegetable oil and basic household cleaners such as Windex. Mineral Spirits may not be used.
- Nothing but soap and water should go down the drains.
- Any sort of solvent must be securely sealed.
- Don’t leave any food or drink out in the shop. We don’t want mice and roaches.
- No Smoking in the building, even if you’re the only one present.
- Be a good neighbor. Remember that our neighbors are businesses that bring people to our area.
The last people in the shop are responsible for:
- Cleaning up anything necessary.
- Taking out any trash left in the building.
- Turning off everything electrical and all lights
- Making sure the front and back doors are locked.
