The exhibition dates are August 1st - September 7th 2024

The opening reception will be held on Thursday, August 1st , 2024 from 6-8pm.

PaperWorkers Local would like to invite you to our upcoming exhibition with works by John DeMotte and Mark Hobson.

John DeMotte received his BFA in photography and printmaking from the University of Montevallo. He began his career in Washington DC, working with Capitol Hill Art Venter, Washington—Moscow Art and Cultural Exchange, and The Phillips Collection. Since 1991, John has been with the Atchison Gallery/Village Framers where he is VP/ master framer. He is a founding member of Paperworkers Local.

Mark Hobson has been photographing and printing for over 50 years. Several years ago, he learned the direct-to-plate photogravure (etched plate) technique from Nathanael Kooperkamp, Walker Blackwell, and Jon Cone. This has become his go-to method as it offers subtleties in the printed image unattainable by other techniques. In addition to photographing and printing, Mark designs and builds fine furniture, and plays and composes music.

Following the opening reception, the exhibition can be seen during our regular gallery hours on Saturdays from noon to 4pm.
